Activities for Kids

Resources to Online and Hands-On Activities
ATTENTION KIDS!!!
The different activities on this page are meant to provide you with an opportunity to share who you are, who your family is, and all the wonderful, unique things that make you, YOU!
Everyone is different.  We may have parts of us that are the same - people who like pineapple on pizza; people who have curly brown hair; people who prefer dogs over cats - but two people are never the same - one person may like pineapple on pizza, have curly brown hair and prefer dogs over cats, while their friend likes pineapple on pizza, has curly brown hair and prefers cats over dogs!  The wonderful part about being in a family and being in a community is that you get to explore those people and that community!  It is so much fun getting to know other people and other cultures.  Getting to explore how things are similar and how they are different.
Please see these activities as an opportunity to be proud of what you, your friends and family different.  There are different activities in here that will help you celebrate yourself and others.  Enjoy!
All About COMMUNITY!!!
Fun for the whole family!
These activities are ideas for the whole family to participate in together.  The first activity listed is to create a passport to help record the memories you make together.  Some of these activities will get you outside and some will be virtual trips on a device.
  • Community Passport - Use this personal passport to keep record of all of your exploration and learnings!  You can add to it as you continue to explore and learn over time.
  • For outdoor adventure ideas, check out Nature Passport - ideas on how to turn your community into a learning adventure.
  • Attend a local festival or market - Festivals will often celebrate customs and traditions of different cultures; while markets will often reflect the local culture(s) that exist in the community.  Exploring these events can give you insight into your own and other cultures!
  • Go to a local museum - We often don't visit our own local attractions.  But we should!  Museums will often share local histories and will rotate special displays focusing on topics of interest.  See what your local museums have to offer!
  • Learn about music from around the world - WorldMusic.net
  • Discover Arts & Crafts from around the world - Education.com
